SDF allows Turkish-backed groups to retrieve bodies in Syria’s Ain Issa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) allowed Turkish-backed opposition groups to recover the bodies of their fighters who were killed in the vicinity of the town of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa, after Russian mediation.
A child lost his life and five other civilians were wounded on Friday, as a result of bombardment by Turkish forces and their affiliated armed groups on the southern countryside of the town of Ain Issa.
Military sources told North Press that the armed groups launched attacks on the town of Ain Issa and its villages yesterday, which has been described as the most violent since the beginning of their attacks on the town.
Russian forces stationed in the town mediated with the SDF, which in turn allowed the opposition to retrieve bodies of its members.
“The decision came from an ethical and humanitarian principle to take the bodies of the dead from the village of Shirkrak in the eastern countryside of Ain Issa town,” the source told North Press.
