Clashes between government, pro-Turkish groups in Syria’s de-escalation zone
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the de-escalation zone in Idlib, northwest Syria, witnessed a new mutual shelling between Turkish-backed Syrian armed opposition groups and Syrian governments forces in light of the military escalation the area has witnessed.
“The government forces based in the city of Saraqeb shelled the armed groups’ posts in the town of al-Nerab and the surrounding agricultural lands, east Idlib, with heavy artillery shells,” local sources told North Press.
The sources added, the shelling affected the villages of San and Binin, east Zawiya Mountain.
Meanwhile, the pro-Turkish armed groups responded to the shelling by targeting the government and Russian forces in the city of Saraqeb.
In addition, al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room shelled the government posts in the cities of Ma’arat al-Nu’man and Kafr Nabl, south Iblib, with heavy artillery shells.
The shelling coincided with intensive flight by Russian drones over Idlib, Latakia northern countryside, and the countryside of Hama and Aleppo, according to the sources.
