Traffic accident in Syria’s Derik, four people injured

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday morning, four people were wounded in a traffic accident on the main road between Derik and Qamishli in northeast Syria.

A truck crashed into a pickup and a van on the highway near the village of Khana Serei in the countryside of Derik.

Muhammad Amin, director of People’s Hospital in Derik, told North Press that they received two injured people, a man and a woman at 8 a.m.

“Their condition is stable. They were suffering from fractures in the face and limbs, and the necessary x-rays were taken and then they were transferred to Qamishli hospitals,” Amin added.

The Derik Hospital then received two other cases, the injuries of which were light, and “they were taken out after first aid was done,” according to the Director of the Hospital.

Traffic accidents are frequent on the highway between Qamishli and Derik, especially during the winter season, due to the bad weather conditions or excessive speed.
