IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, two militants of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) were wounded by unknown attackers who targeted a security checkpoint north of Idlib, northwest Syria.
Unknown attackers targeted the HTS security checkpoint, which is known as al-Ram Checkpoint, on the northern entrance of Idlib with an RPG, a local source told North Press.
The attack wounded two members of the checkpoint amid a state of security alert by HTS members near the entrances and exits of Idlib city.
Violent clashes took place between the attackers and the members of the checkpoint before the perpetrators managed to escape, according to the source.
The city of Idlib witnessed several explosions and assassinations against officials and militants of HTS that accused Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells of conducting them.
