High coronavirus infections in Syria’s Autonomous Administration areas
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced 3 deaths and 41 new coronavirus infections in northeast Syria.
AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, the co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the death cases are of two women and a man from Hasakah.
During the past period, the AANES-held areas have witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections, especially in Qamishli and Hasakah.
The imposition of a full or partial curfew in the Jazira region will be determined based on the rise of the numbers of coronavirus infections,” Health Committee spokeswoman in Qamishli, Roujin Ahmad, had earlier said.
The new infections were recorded as the following: 16 in Qamishli, 9 in Hasakah, 8 in Raqqa, and 7 in Derik.
With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 9,018 confirmed cases, including 353 deaths and 1,266 recoveries.
On Thursday, AANES Health Board recorded 4 deaths and 77 new coronavirus infections northeast Syria.
