Iran requires return to 2015 nuclear deal

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations,  Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated in press releases that what his country and the international community want is the return of the United States (US) to the 2015 nuclear deal.

On Wednesday, the US State Department spokesman Ned Price said, his country’s patience with Iran on returning to discussions over the 2015 nuclear deal is “limited.”

The US has recently confirmed accepting the European invitation for dialogue with Iran, after diplomatic mobility during the past days.

On February 19, The White House spokesperson, Jen Psaki, said that the EU has suggested the idea of talks between Iran and the six major powers that signed the agreement.

“The Europeans have invited us and…it is simply an invitation to have a talk, a diplomatic talk,” she added.

Paski noted that Washington is not planning to pull back any sanctions imposed on Iran, before engaging in European diplomatic conversation regarding Iranian nuclear program.

The White House statements coincided with the threats of the US and its European allies to Iran in the event that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors were prevented from carrying out sudden inspections of its nuclear facilities.

On February 19, at the 2021 Virtual Munich Security Conference, the US President Joe Biden said that his administration is prepared to reengage in negotiations with the P5+1 on Iran’s nuclear program.
