IED explosion wounds three in Syria’s Afrin
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, an IED exploded in the Syrian Turkish-held city of Afrin, northwest Syria, wounding three people.
The explosion took place in the Villat neighborhood causing material losses and wounding three people, whom were transferred to the city hospital, an exclusive source told North Press.
On February 16, an IED exploded in a gathering of Jaysh al-Sharqiya group near al-Sinaa School in the Mahmoudiya neighborhood in the city of Afrin, injured an IDP from Rif Dimashq.
Turkey, along with its affiliated armed opposition groups, announced their full takeover of Afrin on March 18, 2018. The Turkish military operation in Afrin displaced more than 300,000 of its original inhabitants, 100,000 of which settled in camps and destroyed villages in Aleppo’s northern countryside.
