Turkish reinforcements to Syria’s Idlib amid bombing on government positions
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Turkish forces brought in new military reinforcements to Idlib, northwestern Syria, while the armed opposition groups bombed government forces’ sites west of Hama.
Field sources told North Press that about 30 vehicles carrying military and logistical equipment, including tanks, entered Idlib from the Kafr Lossin crossing, and were deployed in the observation and deployment posts.
The sources pointed out that the reinforcements came within strengthening the deployment posts recently established by the Turkish forces in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, in addition to the deployment of concrete guards on the M4 Highway.
The Turkish military reinforcements came in light of the continued military escalation between the Syrian opposition groups and the Syrian government forces in the southern countryside of Idlib and the western countryside of Hama.
Meanwhile, military sources of the opposition told North Press that the Ansar al-Islam group targeted military positions of the government forces on several axes in the Ghab Plain region, west of Hama, with heavy artillery shells.
