SDF member shot dead in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor countryside

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) member was shot dead by masked men in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, on Thursday.

“Masked men, who were riding a motorbike, shot an SDF member dead with a silent pistol,” a local source from the town told North Press.

The SDF member did not have any identification papers but only a permission issued by the SDF with unreadable name.

After the incident, SDF members imposed a security cordon around the town searching for the perpetrators, according to the source.

Unknown persons have intensified their attacks in the northern and eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, amid intensive security procedures by the SDF.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the killing of members of the SDF, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) employees, and some clan notables in the past period.
