Body found in water station in Syria’s east Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, residents found the body of a young man in Omar water station in the town of Thiban, 55 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor.

The eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside is witnessing large-scale assassination operations against employees of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) members, and tribal figures.

The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for killing SDF members in the town of Abrahiya, east Deir ez-Zor.

Residents of Thiban found the body of Khallof al-Taha, from the town of al-Shheell, in Omar water station, a military source told North Press.

Early on Thursday, the residents of the town heard shooting near the water station followed by loud shouting, according to local sources.

On Monday, unknown attackers on a motorcycle shot an SDF member in the town of al-Hawaij, east Deir ez-Zor, killing him immediately.

Two days ago, the SDF resumed their military campaign against ISIS sleeper cells in the desert between al-Dashisha and Markada, south of Hasakah, and areas in Deir ez-Zor on Tuesday.
