IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Turkish forces sent more reinforcements to Syrian territory to strengthen their bases in the de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria.
A field source from Idlib told North Press that a Turkish military convoy entered the Syrian territory through Haram border city to its bases in south Idlib.
A convoy consisting of dozens of military vehicles and trucks loaded with ammunition and logistical items entered Turkish bases in Zawiya Mountain in the south of Idlib, a field source told North Press.
Since March 2020, the governorates of Idlib, Hama, Latakia and Aleppo have been subjected to an agreement between Moscow and Ankara to stop hostilities.
The number of vehicles that have entered the Syrian territories since the start of the new ceasefire last March reached about 8,155 vehicles and about 10,000 Turkish soldiers, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
Since its military intervention in Syria, Turkish forces have established more than 60 military posts and bases the governorates of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia in the northwest of Syria.
