Syrian anti-narcotics agency seizes drugs in Aleppo
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) — Syria’s anti-narcotics agency said on Thursday it seized large quantities of drugs and arrested two people accused of possessing them in Aleppo’s Suryan neighborhood.
On Aug. 10, the agency arrested two people accused of trafficking large quantities of drugs in Kafr Kermin town in the Atarib area west of Aleppo, it said.
According to the agency’s official channels, security forces set up an ambush that led to the arrest of two suspects identified as M.M. and A.K.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 61 kilograms of hashish, about 220,000 Captagon pills weighing a total of 37 kilograms, and 700 grams of H-Bose, the agency said.
The suspects were referred to the competent judiciary for legal proceedings, according to the agency.
