AANES to find follow-up committee for modifying Administration Charter
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) Abd Hamed al-Mehbash said that the AANES would find a committee of lawyers and specialists to modify the Administration charter in the coming days.
Al-Mehbash did not reveal any details about the date of founding the legal committee which would be responsible for amending the AANES charter or the number of the members.
“AANES was founded on 6/9/2018, and two years later, we realized that it is necessary to modify the charter according to the administrative, political, and service variables in northeast Syria,” al-Mehbash said in a statement to North Press.
On December 13, the Executive Council decided to find a committee to modify the AANES charter.
This decision came after the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held 13 symposia in cities and villages in North and East Syria from September to the middle of November.
Community events, prominent figures, popular representatives, journalists, activists, and employees took part in those symposia.
One of the demands of the participants was to modify AANES laws and systems.
“According to the outcomes of the National Conference for the People of Jazira and the Euphrates, a follow-up committee will be formed to monitor the implementation of the outcomes including modifying the laws,” according to al-Mehbash.
