Death toll of suicide bombings in Iraq’s Baghdad increases
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The death toll due to the two suicide bombings that hit the Iraqi capital, Baghdad on Thursday, increased to 28 dead and 73 wounded.
On Thursday, Iraqi media said, two separate suicide bombings hit the Iraqi capital, Baghdad in a first-ever attack for years.
While no one has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.
The two explosions resulted in the killing of 28 people and the injury of 73 others at least, in a market in Baghdad, according to a new toll released by the Iraqi News Agency.
A statement issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior said that the first suicide bomber blew himself up in a second-hand market in Tayaran Square in the city center of Baghdad, “after he claimed that he was sick and people gathered around him.”
While the second suicide bomber blew himself up “after people gathered to hospitalize the victims who were wounded during the first bombing,” according to the statement.
Three years ago, a suicide bombing hit the same place, the Tayaran Square, where people often crowd in, and killing 31 people.
