SDC conducts anti-corruption campaign in Syria’s Autonomous Administration-held areas

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) launched an administrative and economic anti-corruption campaign in areas held by the Autonomous Administration North East Syria (AANES) on Saturday.

SDC official website cited well knowledgeable sources saying that the campaign addressed “a number of officials and those accused of corruption issues within both the public and private sectors.”

These efforts are taking place after SDC has held the National Conference for People of Jazira and Euphrates on November 25.

The conference stressed the necessity to “fight against corruption and activate a central monitoring and inspection apparatus in the AANES’ institutions.”

SDC referred more than 100 people to investigation and those who were guilty of corruption, abuse of influence and manipulation of public funds were transferred to a special courts.

SDC described the issue to conduct a broad anti-corruption campaign within AANES institutions.

Additionally, SDC revealed that the campaign would become broader in the coming period through pursuit the spoilers and disrupters.
