Clashes in Syria’s Ain Issa hours after Russian-Turkish meeting
AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – Local sources reported that the village of al-Wasita, east of Ain Issa, was subjected to artillery shelling this evening, by the Turkish forces, while the shelling later, hit the neighboring villages of Mushairfah, and Jahbal.
The sources added that the shelling lasted for more than an hour, and stopped at about 9 p.m.
They indicated that the Turkish forces renewed bombing with artillery, the villages of Mushairfah, and Jahbal, as violent clashes broke out between the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The bombing comes hours after a meeting between Turkish and Russian military personnel in the Shirkrak silos in Ain Issa, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The observatory stated that the meeting discussed several matters related to the region, especially the recent Turkish escalation.
Sinem Muhammad, representative of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) in the USA, called on the international community to move and stop the Turkish aggression on north and east Syria.
Muhammad added in a tweet, that the armed opposition groups shelled the village of Wasita, east of Ain Issa.
A military source told North Press that clashes with heavy weapons, took place on Sunday, between the SDF and the armed opposition groups in the villages of Mushairfah and Jahbal.
