Turkey continues sending more military reinforcements to Syria de-escalation zone

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish forces sent on Tuesday, more military reinforcements to their sites in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

The continuous Turkish reinforcements are part of the strengthening of its military presence in Syria.

Turkey has established more than 60 military points and bases in the governorates of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia in the northwest of the Syria, since its military intervention in Syria.

Syrian Observatory of Human Rights monitored on Monday midnight, the entry of a Turkish convoy of Turkish forces into Syrian territory.

The Observatory indicated that the convoy included 15 trucks loaded with military and logistical aid that entered through Kafr Losin border crossing north of Idlib and headed towards the Turkish points in the de-escalation zone.

The number of Turkish convoys that entered Syria since the start of the ceasefire reached 7,575 vehicles, in addition to thousands of soldiers, according to the observatory.

At the beginning of this month, the Turkish forces established a new military point near the town of al-Bara in Zawiya Mountain in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Since October 2017, Turkey has started establishing military points in northwestern Syria after it reached an agreement with Russia to establish the de-escalation zone.

The Turkish forces had recently evacuated military points in Morek and Sher Maghar in Hama countryside, Maar Hattat south of Idlib, Sheikh Aqil west of Aleppo, and separate points in the vicinity of Saraqib east of Idlib.

Most of Idlib and parts of the governorates of Hama, Aleppo and Latakia have been subject since last March to an agreement between Moscow and Ankara to stop military operations in the region.
