Five coronavirus deaths and 190 new infections recorded in northeast Syria

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 190 new coronavirus infections and five deaths in its areas on Wednesday.

Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, stated that the deaths were two men from Derik, a man from Hasakah, a woman from Shahba in the northern countryside of Aleppo and a man from Derbasiya. He added that the new recorded infections were 115 males and 75 women.

In the Jazira region, the recorded infections were 25 in Hasakah, 17 in Qamishli, 14 in Derik, 8 in Amuda, 7 in Girke Lege, two in Tel Tamr, one in Derbasiya, one in Jil Agha, and one in Hawl Camp.

In the Euphrates region, there was 40 cases in Tabqa, 25 in Kobani, 22 in Raqqa, 18 in Manbij, five in Deir Ez-Zor, and four cases in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where those displaced from Afrin by the Turkish invasion in 2018 reside.

The recovery of 17 cases were also recorded, according to Mustafa.

The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 111 new coronavirus infections and five deaths in its areas on Monday.

According to the new the statistics on new cases of coronavirus in the Autonomous Administration regions, the number of infections has risen to 6,420, of which 168 died and 905 recovered.
