ISIS-remnant mine exploded in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A landmine exploded on Thursday on the banks of the Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

A child from the village of Hweijat al-Mashahda was seriously injured due to the explosion of a landmine of ISIS remnants, local sources told North Press

The child was taken to a hospital in the area to receive treatment, the source added.

Several cases of landmine explosions and remnants of war that date back to the period of ISIS elimination take place.

Although more than a year has passed since the end of ISIS military control, its remnants and ammunition depots are still being discovered in several areas of northeastern Syria.
