Third attack on Turkish points in Syria’s Bab this month

BAB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the village of Barrazia in the countryside of Bab city, northeast of Aleppo, targeting a vehicle of an interpreter working for the Turkish base in the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the IED targeted a vehicle belonging to an interpreter working for the Turkish base, injuring him and his wife.

Local sources said that the vehicle was parked on the edge of the road in the village, and the IED was planted in it. While the Turkish interpreter and his wife walked past, it exploded and injured both of them.

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that engineering teams from the Turkish-backed opposition armed groups detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) placed by unknown individuals inside a garbage bag near a Turkish military post in the Ashrafieh neighborhood in Afrin, and no casualties have been reported.

An officer in the Turkish Military Police Brigade was killed on August 14 when an explosive device placed inside his car exploded.

An explosive device placed inside a van exploded on August 28 near the Fatima al-Zahra Mosque in the center of Bab, leaving only material damage at the time.

The city of Bab and its countryside, which are under the control of Turkish-backed opposition armed groups, is witnessing security chaos that manifests in assassination attempts and repeated explosions.
