American  Journal: Pentagon to Lay a Groundwork for Sending Troops to the Gulf

The New York Times reported that six officials of the National Security were shocked to learn about the troop strength that the Pentagon is planning to send to the Gulf,  the same as the ones sent to Iraq.

“the deployment of such a strong air, ground and naval forces would give Tehran more targets to strike, and perhaps more reasons to do so, which threatens the United States to involve in a long conflict, and will reflect the years of reducing the American Army  in The Middle East, which the President Barack Obama began to pull out the troops of Iraq in 2011.”  According to the New York Times.

“Trump’s December announcement of  the American troops withdrawal from Syria, contradicted by the naval presence in the region, may had encouraged some leaders in Tehran and convinced the Revolutionary Guard Corps that the United States does not intent to fight Iran. ” The New York Times quoted two National Security Officials as saying.

At last Thursday’s meeting of Trump’s National Security staff, acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan presented an updated military plan that would send 120,000 troops to the Middle East if Iran attacked US forces or even accelerated nuclear action.

“These plans were made at the orders of the hardliners led by John Bolton, the National Security Adviser of Mr. Trump, and this development reflects the influence of Mr. Bolton, who is one of the most cruel in management against Tehran, that the former President George W. Bush ignored his efforts of pushing him to the confrontation against Iran more than a decade ago. ” According to the New York Times.

“uncertainly, whether Trump, who sought to separate the United States from Afghanistan and Syria, will eventually send back a lot of American troops to the Middle East, and it is not clear whether the president had learnt about the number of troops or other details in the plans, for when he was asked on Monday, if he is seeking to change the regime in Iran, Trump said: “We will see what will happen with Iran, If they did anything, it would be a very bad mistake.” The US journal added.

“there are sharp divisions in the United States Administration on how to respond to Iran in the time of escalating tensions over Iran’s nuclear policy and its intentions in the Middle East. Some Seniors of the United States Officials, at a very preliminary stage, have revealed that the plans show the seriousness of the Iranian threat. Others who are seeking for a diplomatic solution to the current tensions, mentioned that the matter was a tactic aimed at raising Iran’s fears and warning of new attacks. ” According to the New York Times.
