Recent ISIS movements spread concerns among Iraqis
The International coalition against ISIS and the Ministry of Peshmerga announced heavy movements for the “Islamic State” elements in Iraq and the Kurdistan region.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Peshmerga after last day’s meeting between the representative of the international coalition against ”IS” and the Kurdistan Regional Government’s acting Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, Karim Sinjari, the meeting highlighted that these movements cause fear and concern to the citizens , moreover, it greatly affected the security and economy of citizens in those areas.
The statement also mentioned that the two sides discussed the security and military situation in Syria, and the end of military operations against the organization of “IS” in the country.
Meanwhile, Iraqi courts on Tuesday sentenced two French suspected of fighting in the ranks of “IS”, bringing the number of French people sentenced to death to six.
French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian revealed that his country is intensifying its diplomatic efforts to prevent the execution of six of its citizens in Iraq after they were convicted of belonging to the organization.
According to the Association French Victims of the terrorism (AfVT), which calls for the repatriation and prosecution of all French IS members there, four others are due to be sentenced next week while 12 others are still waiting for their fate.
