The Syrian government forces continued the reinforcement of their military forces, in coordination with the Russian army, three days ago, on the dividing line between them and Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham(HTS) in northern and north-western of Hama villages as indications of launching a military campaign on a large-scale in the region.

Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) and some armed opposition factions controlled  Idlib, that is considered one of its most important strongholds.

So, the Russian and Syrians’ warplanes and helicopters of air forces targeted large areas in an aggressive shelling operation at military sites that belonged to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the armed opposition factions, in addition to other civilian areas such as Mount Shahshbo, Al-Hawiz, AL-Latmana, and Karakat areas.

At the same time, the North Press reporter in Idlib pointed out that the bombing caused huge destruction at the headquarters of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham, and Al-Izza Army as well as their gunmen, in addition to a number of casualties of civilians caused by aggressive shelling.

The military reinforcement, sent by the Syrian government and the Russian Army to Hama’s western-northern countryside, were equipped with rocket batteries, heavy artillery and a Russian sniper squad, whose photos were on an unofficial electronic accounts of the Russian Army in Mahrda vicinity and Al-Ghab plain.

“We have set the targets,” said one of the government military sources to North Press, referring to the approaching of the military campaign on the northern countryside of Hama.

This process is not classified as a broad process since it does not aim to take full control of Idlib and to eliminate the opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham. The Syrian government aims to secure a safe line between its northern and southern regions.

“It is a limited operation that does not aim to control Idlib, as pro-government media outlets do,” the North Press reporter in Hama quoted government sources.

Dozens of villages under the control of Syrian government forces have recently been shelled, same as those in Idlib and northern countryside of Hama, prompting the government to launch a new military campaign.

The media community discuss the Russian-Turkish coordination to start this process, which is not ruled out in light of the good relations between Moscow and Ankara, especially after the Turkish control of the city of Afrin, northwest Syria on March 18, 2018, which was considered to some parties,”Ghouta for Afrin ” deal.
