A Leader of the Syrian Armed Opposition to North Press: Tahrir Al-Sham Prevents us Heading to Idlib

The leader of the Syrian armed opposition said that the reason for the failure of the arrival of the pro-Turkish government troops of  the Syrian National Army, to the countryside of Aleppo to participate in the fighting, was blocking of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham the road in front of  the National Army factions, in response to the escalation of military operations and the advancement of the Russian and Syrian Government forces, witnessed by the southern countryside of Idlib and the northern countryside of Hama”

“After the heavy bombing campaign in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, the beginning of the battle in the core of Al-Madiq Castle and the advancement of the Syrian Government and the Russian forces there, the factions of the National Army had not intervened in the areas of the pro-Turkey Olive Branch and the Euphrates Shield yet.”

The official of the political office of Al-Mu’tasim Brigade, in an exclusive statement to North Press.

He added, “Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (Al-Nusra Front previously) cut off the movement of the National Army factions, through controlling the areas between the Olive Branch and Dara Azza city, and set up barricades, trenches and fronts,” noting, “it is difficult to send troops to the hot front lines in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, without crossing the points of Al-Nusra Front.”

The leader of the armed opposition confirmed to North Press, that “the Russian-Turkish disagreement” was the reason behind the Russian escalation in Idlib, pointing out, “the Russian occupation tried to put pressure on the allies in the Turkish Republic, and considered Al-Nusra Front a pretext for escalation.”

“The Russian military operation have not targeted any site of Al-Nusra Front so far, for the shelling targeted civilians and health facilities, such as schools, hospitals and mosques.” He added.

“Al-Nusra Front is a terrorist organization that works for Iran and it represents its Sunni arm, just like the Lebanese Hezbollah, and they both are leaded by the terrorist Qasem Suleimani, thus, Al-Julani is just a servant of the Iranian project.

 In addition, the international community was demanded help and save about 5 million civilians. ” Said Sejari on Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham control over the area.

He continued, “The leader of Al-Nusra Front, Abu Muhammad Al-Julani, and his media movements are only the object to legitimize the Russian bombardment and embarrass the Turkish leadership.”

He explained his view, “the solution is an internal initiative and a move of the revolutionary forces to eliminate the terrorism of Al-Nusra Front, which aimed at expanding in the liberated areas at the expense of the components of the revolution. “

Mustafa Sejari, the leader of the Syrian opposition armed group concluded his interview with North Press on the regard of the new displaced people issues, and the weapons of the opposition factions “We believe that the situation are going to be calm, but the weapon remain in the hands of the Free Syrian Army, is the only guarantor to deter enemy.”

He added “ the rumors about preventing the refugees of Idlib and Hama to get in the areas of the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch are untrue and contradict the reality.”
