The Syrian Democratic Forces “SDF” launched the second stage of its security campaign against Islamic State “IS” cells in the desert region of Al-Hasaka and Deir Ez-Zour countryside.
Through its security campaigns, SDF aim to eliminate the remaining elements of the “State” organization in the region and to paralyze their movements, which occasionally target their points by planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and launching armed attacks.
The forces launched a large-scale security campaign on Thursday morning, from two centers in the desert region extending from Al Kasrah town in the northern countryside of Deir Ez-Zour towards Al-Shaddadi town, south of Al-Hasaka governorate.
The security campaign included an estimated area of 70 km long and 60 km wide.
