Syrian Democratic Forces arrested today’s morning an Islamic State’s sleeper cells senior leader in the town of al-Shehail near the Syrian-Iraqi border, east of Deir Ez-Zour governorate.
Special sources inside the SDF told North-Press Agency that the security operation began last night and lasted until early this morning, noting that the arrested person was on the list of suspects, as he attacked the SDF when they were trying to capture him.
According to the sources, the operation also resulted in various injuries with varying degrees to some of the local Syrian Democratic Forces, additionally, the US-backed SDF thanked the local residents of the town, who contributed to the arrest of the terrorist.
During the past period, the eastern areas of Deir ez-Zour have witnessed many attacks targeted the Syrian Democratic forces by ISSI sleeper cells, which was adopted by the group through official statements published on its platforms on the Internet.
