Turkish military open fire at SDF border guards in northeast Syria

The Turkish military forces fired at a border guard post of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Tuesday midnight in the western countryside of Sari Kani/Ras al-Ayn, northeastern Syria.

A special source told North-Press that the Turkish army opened fire by medium-sized weapons mounted on a military vehicle, towards an SDF military observation post at the border in the western countryside of the town of Sari-Kani, no casualties were reported.

Some SDF border guard posts are joint with the US-led International Coalition forces, which is in charge of monitoring the borders with Turkey in northeastern Syria.

Two farmers were heavily injured on Sunday as they were harvesting their crops fields in Derik, northeast of Syria after they were shot by the Turkish border guards.

On the other hand, the Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned on Tuesday the United Nations’ signing a Joint Action Plan (JAP) at the UN headquarters in Geneva on June 29, on protecting children under conflicts with the Syrian Democratic forces.
