Senior ISIS official killed in a joint SDF and Coalition operation

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced yesterday the death of “Thabit Fahad al-Ahmad”, an Islamic State Amir and senior official within the terrorist group in the town of Al-Suwar, in the northeastern countryside of Deir Ez-Zor.
As the SDF announced in an official statement that their special forces in collaboration with the US-led Global Coalition to defeat ISIS had launched a security operation on July 11, noting that their forces had requested the ISIS leader to surrender peacefully, but he refused as he was killed in the mutual gunfire by both sides.
The SDF special forces added that they’ve found weapons and a collection of mobile phones in the Amir’s house, pointing out that he was one of ISIS biggest financiers and was responsible for selling and smuggling oil, as well as being the economic mind of the group.
Earlier on Tuesday, SDF’s Counter-terrorism units (HAT) had arrested a member of the Islamic State in a security operation in Al-Tayyar neighborhood in the city of Raqqa.
