Areas in the southern countryside of Idlib, adjacent to the administrative border of Hama governorate, are witnessing ongoing military operations by the Syrian government forces, which in turn seek to take over a large area close the strategic highway of  Aleppo – Damascus.

Ongoing clashes between the government forces on one side, and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the Turkistan Islamic Party and other armed opposition groups on the other side, in western Khan Shaykhun axis, where the Syrian forces managed to advance in the area, according to North-Press reporter.

The Syrian forces managed to take control over the villages of Tal Aas and Kafr Ein, shortening the distance between them and the other Syrian forces east of Khan Shaykhun to less than 14 km.

By this advance, the government forces seek to impose a siege around the opposition factions, and try to force them to either surrender or withdraw from the remaining opposition-held areas in northern Hama countryside, while using an intensive cover of aerial and ground bombardment.

Meanwhile, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets have raided in the early morning hours the areas of Kafr Nabl, Kafr Awyed, Khan Shaykhun, al-Tamanaah, Bisaqla, Hass, Halbeh and Kafr Roma, causing some injuries.

The statistical teams in northwestern Syria have recorded the death of 6 people, including a woman and 3 children, and the injury of more than 22 others, due to the aerial bombardments on the city of Khan Shaykhun, the village of al-Salhiyeh, al-Tamanaah, Kafr Sijnah, Jarjanaz, and other areas of Idlib countryside.

While the displacement movement continued from the villages, towns, and cities of Idlib southern countryside to nearby the Syrian-Turkish borders, amid fears of an increase in the number of displaced people, especially under the recent intensified bombardment.
