The Russian warplanes continue their heavy airstrikes targeting areas in the de-escalation zone, south of Idlib, western Hama and northern Latakia countryside, while violent clashes between the armed opposition and Islamic Jihadist groups against Syrian government forces take place on the northeastern axis of Latakia countryside. Russian warplanes have been targeting with dozens of airstrikes on the towns of Hass, Maarat Harmah and the outskirts of towns of Sarja and Kafr Sijna since early this morning, causing a number of injuries in Kfar Sijna, south of Idlib.

The Russian airstrikes were preceded by targeting the outskirts of the city of Maarat al-Numan with a dozen airstrikes, while similar raids targeted Kafrouma, Rakaya Sijna, Tal Mardikh and Maar Shorin, causing 3 injuries in the latter and killing a person in Kafrouma.

The Russian airstrikes coincided with heavy artillery and rocket shelling by the Syrian government forces, targeting the town of Kafr Nabl, the towns of Haas, Deir al-Sharqi, Hazarin, Heish, Kafr Sijna, al-Naqir, Um al-Sir and Maar zita.

Furthermore, the city of Jisr al-Shughour and the towns of al-Najiya and al-Janoudia, west of Idlib were also targeted, while the city of Jisr al-Shughour and the surrounding villages are witnessing a massive wave of displacement towards the Syrian-Turkish bordering areas, following the recent bombing campaign which the city has undergone.

In the same context, the Syrian government forces targeted with heavy artillery and rockets the villages of al-Hawija, al-Hawash and al-Amqiya in al-Ghab plain, west of Hama, and the villages of al-Sahariya and Jeb Suleiman in Mount Shahashabo, northwest of Hama.

Russian airstrikes also hit Kabenah axes in Mount al-Akrad, northeast of Latakia, preceded by helicopters bombing on the same axis with barrel bombs, which witnessed violent and continuous clashes between the Syrian government forces against the armed opposition groups and other Salafist-Jihadist groups.

Meanwhile, the armed opposition groups responded by targeting Camp Gorin in al-Ghab plain, west of Hama with artillery shells.

Moreover, recent intensive aerial and ground bombardment campaign by the Russian and Syrian forces on Idlib and its surrounding areas have caused suspension of schools in south and western Idlib.

As the Syrian government warplanes resumed bombing on the 4th of November for the first time since mid-September, while the Russian warplanes had preceded them and escalated their shelling of the area since mid-October, for the first time since the new ceasefire agreement, which was put into effect at the end of last August.
