Turkish bombing of Ein Issa countryside prevents maintenance workers from accessing damaged power lines

 On Tuesday, Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups bombarded the village of al-Dibis, west of the town of Ein Issa, in the northern countryside of Raqqa governorate. In light of ongoing shelling, maintenance workers were unable to reach damaged power lines in the area.

The power lines were damaged in the bombardment of the area in the past few days. Maintenance workers tried to reach the lines, but were unable to because of the ongoing bombardment by the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups.

Yesterday, Monday, Turkish forces and their affiliated groups launched an attack on the village of Hoshan and the vicinity of the M4 highway, in conjunction with flights of Turkish reconnaissance aircraft in the airspace over northern Raqqa.

Military sources from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told North-Press, that they "managed to repel the attack, which led to the destruction of some of Turkish military vehicles and the killing of members of Turkish-backed armed groups.”

On Monday evening, Turkish forces and their affiliated groups bombarded the village of Arab Hassan, northwest of Manbij, killing a girl and wounding her father.

The United Nations Secretary-General launched an appeal on Monday "for an immediate ceasefire throughout the world to protect the most vulnerable civilians in countries of conflict, with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic."

On the 24th of this month, the Syrian Democratic Forces announced their "commitment to legitimate self-defense and avoiding any military actions," and called on all parties of the Syrian conflict to immediately commit to a humanitarian ceasefire.
