Joint Russian-Turkish patrol in the eastern countryside of Kobani

On Thursday, the Russian military police conducted a joint patrol with the Turkish military in the eastern countryside of the city of Kobani in northern Syria, which is the 15th joint patrol between the two sides in the region, since the Putin-Erdogan agreement last year, and the third since the start of lockdown in the Euphrates region.
The joint patrol, consisting of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, started from the village of Gharib 15 km east of Kobani, and roamed the villages Gerbanav, Kosik, Ali-Shar, Jumali, Kortik, Kupak-Satan, Terri, Tal Hajeb, Qabajegh, Howlaqiye, Kharabisan Tahtani, Etwiran Tahtani, and Qaramugh, as the patrol then returned to its starting point in the village of Gharib.
This is the first joint Russian-Turkish patrol to reach a depth of 10 km inside Syrian territory at the village of Howlaqiye in southeastern Kobani.
The Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey via a border gate near the village of Gharib, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their base in the al-Izaa area west of Kobani.
The Russian military police conducted the 14th joint patrol with the Turkish military on April 6 in the western countryside of Kobani, starting from the village of Ashma 20 km west of the city.
While the Russian and Turkish forces conducted the 13th joint patrol in the eastern countryside of Kobani, on the 23rd of last March, starting from the village of Gharib 15 km east of Kobani, in conjunction with the start of the lockdown in the Euphrates region due to coronavirus epidemic.
