Syria condemns Netanyahu’s unauthorized entry
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Foreign Ministry condemned on Wednesday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unauthorized entry into Syrian territory.
Earlier Wednesday, Netanyahu posted a video showing him with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and several other officers touring the summit of Mount Hermon in the Syrian Golan Heights.
In a statement, the ministry said Syria “strongly condemns” Netanyahu’s unauthorized entry into Syrian territory and his tour of Mount Hermon, describing it as a provocative move and a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.
The ministry said continued Israeli incursions and attacks inside Syrian territory represent a dangerous escalation that threatens security and stability in the region.
It held Israel fully responsible for the consequences of these violations and called on the United Nations, international organizations and influential countries to fulfill their responsibilities to halt the attacks and return to the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement.
