On Tuesday, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) called on Russia to intervene to stop Turkish attacks on the areas of northeastern Syria, in commitment to its guarantor role in the ceasefire on all border areas with Turkey.
At dawn on Tuesday, a Turkish military drone targeted a point of the Asayish in the city of Kobani, northeast of Aleppo, with two bombs, causing material damage.
The Asayish Command said in a statement that "the first bomb exploded at 03:00 am immediately after it was dropped, causing material damage, while the second bomb exploded after forty-five minutes, and 10 minutes after it was launched, as it was a timed bomb."
The Asayish statement pointed out that "the two bombs did not cause any human casualties," stressing that Turkish forces continue to target northeastern Syria in light of the spread of coronavirus epidemic, despite the commitment of the security forces to the international calls for cease-fire between all parties in the country.
The statement called upon the guarantor countries to reach a ceasefire agreement on all border areas with Turkey and perform their duties in order to preserve the security and safety of people in all areas of northeastern Syria "from the continued attacks of the Turkish occupation on our regions."
Russian forces stationed in the area surveyed the scene of the attack and then left without making any statements.
