ISIS women arrested during attempted escape from Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces (Asayish) foiled an escape attempt of escape by ISIS women from northern Syria's Hawl Camp after they contacted their families, while the driver escaped.

The four Russian women, who tried to escape were Victora Nicola and her three children, Aisha Mawlod, Marit Morad and her two children, and Aisha Ahmad Khan and her child.

North Press obtained footage of one of the women in which she said "I called my mother in Russia. She told me that we have to be by the camp gate when it is dark, where there would be a driver waiting for us."

A security source from the camp who preferred not to be identified said that "the driver, who planned the operation, ran away and the search for him is still underway."

The smuggling of ISIS families and women is not uncommon in Hawl Camp, which contains about 11,000 ISIS women and children from 54 countries. They are held in a separated part in the camp which is called the foreigner or immigrants section. These women are known for their intolerance and radicalism, according to the camp's management.

Previously, North Press posted video footage and documents that showed truck drivers affiliated with humanitarian organizations smuggling members of ISIS families from the camp.
