A number of Syrian refugees were killed and others injured as a Turkish military bus deporting them had an accident in the southern state of Hatay.
Six citizens lost their lives and about 30 others, including women and children, were injured as they were crossing the Turkish borders to escape the war in northwestern Syria, of whom the most were from villages along the border line with the Syrian government controlled areas in the eastern countryside of Idlib.
The Turkish border guards arrested them while crossing the Turkish borders illegally. They were gathered at one of the border posts to be transported to Bab al-Hawa crossing and deported to Syria, where the bus which was carrying them had an accident in al-Rihaniya region.
The Turkish government has recently tightened procedures for people who have entered the country illegally, as security campaigns have been conducted by the Turkish government to prosecute them, of which the most noticeable was in Istanbul state.
