Head of coronavirus medical team in Suwayda, south Syria, infected with coronavirus
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – The head of the pulmonology department at the government hospital and head of the medical team to confront coronavirus in the city of Suwayda, Dr. Youssef Munther, announced that he is infected with coronavirus.
“I am now quarantining myself in my house after the symptoms of the virus began to appear, such as fever, coughing, and diarrhea,” Dr. Munther told North Press.
He mentioned that dozens are infected with coronavirus in the governorate and the number cannot be accurately counted.
“I apologize for not completing my medical and humanitarian duties in following up on patients infected with the virus and in leading the medical team in charge of dealing with virus in governorate.”
He called on all residents in the city to follow all preventive measures and wear masks as a first line of defense against the infection.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health in the Syrian government, there are 40 cases of coronavirus infection in the city of Suwayda, of whom two recovered and two died, while there are still 36 active cases.
