Areas under the control of the Syrian government in Hasakah city, northeastern Syria, witnessed a normal movement of people on Thursday amid the absence of precautionary measures, even though two cases of coronavirus were detected in the city on Wednesday.
Security Square (where a number of the government’s security headquarters are located), and al-Mahattah and al-Qudat neighborhoods, which are controlled by the Syria government, witnessed a normal movement of the residents without commitment to precautionary measures.
On Thursday, the Syrian government allowed the professionals to work until 3:00 p.m. every day within the area under its control, which is about 60% of Syria’s space.
A North-Press reporter witnessed a massive movement of public and private transportation, such as taxis and motorcycles within the city.
The absence of precautionary measures comes at a time that the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria confirmed the infection of two people of coronavirus.
In the meantime, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) imposed a quarantine on 14 people, including the families of the two infected people in al-Omran neighborhood, southwest of the city.
On April 17, the Health Board in northeastern Syria announced the death of a person on April 2 after being infected with coronavirus, and it accused the WHO of “delay” in informing the Health Board of the tests’ results.
