On Monday, Hadla Hassan, the co-chair of the Health Board in the Euphrates region of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, revealed to North-Press that two new PCR devices to detect cases of COVID-19 have arrived in the region from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The official in the Health Board added, "One of the two devices is devoted to the Raqqa area, while the other is for the Euphrates region."
For his part, Dr. Hikmat Ahmed, the adviser to the Health Board in the Euphrates region, told North-Press that the two devices can be used to detect cancer as well.
Dr. Ahmed pointed out that they "sent a team dedicated to working on the device to Qamishli in order to undergo a training course on how to use it."
The adviser to the Health Board considered that "the lack of ventilators is a major problem facing the Health Board, as hospitals in the region have few ventilators."
On the 22nd of this month, the Health Board in the Euphrates region formed a special committee to follow up on scientific developments related to the novel COVID-19 epidemic, consisting of 12 doctors and the co-presidency of the Board.
On April 12th, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria received two medical laboratories to detect coronavirus provided by the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
