North and East Syria Administration Limits the Sale of Alcohol and Hookah

The Municipalities’ Board in the Euphrates region (an administrative division includes Kobani/Ein Al-Arab, Tal-Abyad, and Ein-Issa), of the Autonomous Administrations of North and East Syria, issued a circular prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, shisha flavored molasses, tobacco, and smokes for underage people, as well as the sale of alcoholic beverages in parks and public places.
Due to the widespread of this phenomenon, the ِAutonomous Administration decided to:
Demanding owners of shops and tourist facilities not to sell alcoholic beverages, flavored hookah, and smokes to those under the legal age (18 years).
Demanding public park investors not to sell these materials to those under the legal age, and not to sell alcoholic beverages in such places as well, as according to the circular, which the “North-Press” obtained a copy.
The circular stipulates a warning to the owners of shops, tourist facilities, and parks investors that in case of violating any of the terms mentioned in the circular, a fine up to 100 thousand Syrian pounds would be imposed, in addition to license revocation.
