Breaking the Siege of Daraa’s Al-Sanamein after 8-Day-Siege

After more than a week, the Syrian government broke the siege imposed on Al-Sanamen city in the north countryside of Daraa, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The Syrian government forces opened the roads that lead to the city, and allowed the entry and exit of civilians and food to the city after eight days of cutting off.

However, breaking the siege came after a visit by a delegation of Hauran city elders accompanied by Russian troops, to agree with the government forces on resolving  the dispute and breaking the siege imposed on them. According to the Observatory

It is worth to mention that Al-Sanamein began to suffer from food shortages during the siege period.

On the other hand, the government forces released the former leader of “Mu’taz Bellah” opposition army faction, who is known as “Abu Hassan”, whose elements deployed checkpoints in the western countryside of Daraa, upon his arresting.

The faction controlled Al-Mzeraa and Alrai checkpoints and a military security detachment after expelling the governmental forces. Hence, disturbance prevailed  until the leader was released and the elements withdrew from the checkpoints they had control over. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
