People of the Syrian Governorate of Hasakah Look Forward to More Services
The Municipality of the east district of Hasakah will continue to rehabilitate a number of vital roads that link between the neighborhoods of the city, as a part of the plan set by the Local Administration and Municipalities in the Democratic Self-Administration for 2019, which includes the implementation of sustainable service projects such as road rehabilitation, maintenance of bridges and sewage system at a cost of 42 billion Syrian pounds for the various areas of the Self-Administration in the north and east of Syria.
It is noteworthy that the infrastructure of  roads, bridges and sewage systems in the north and east of Syria have been damaged as a result of bad weather and repairs, as well as the war that took place in the region between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the organization of the “Islamic State” ,the same as in the areas of Raqqa and Deir Ez-Zur.
The municipality’s co-chairmanship deputy of the east district of Hasaka city, Alchi Khalid told North Press that the rehabilitation process has started on 15 May to a number of main roads (the street and square of  Al-Sina’a and Al-Fardous Street) located within the work areas of the east district municipality, and that they attached importance to the main and vital roads, based on dedicated possibilities. He also pointed out that they allocated 700 million Syrian pounds for the province of Hasakah within the plan’s first quarter. 
In case of the available possibilities and the completing of the process is approved, then, they will proceed with the plans’ second and third quarter.
Idris Al-Ahmad, a resident of Al-Saliheya neighborhood pointed to the importance of rehabilitating the whole streets in the city, not only the main ones, as he was complaining about the badness of his neighborhood’s street that causes a great damage to cars.
According to Abdulsalam Abdullah, there are a lot of holes and bumps in various of the city streets that damage the cars. He hoped that the entire streets of the city be rehabilitated.
Ahmed Mohsen Hame, a resident, said that the main roads in the city are estimated at about 5%, while side streets are estimated at about 95%, that need to be rehabilitated and equipped, which increased the suffering of the residents of the city.
He added, ” this is a good initiative, it was too late, though. Nevertheless, it is not sufficient, the necessary and basic services must be taken care of.
