Turkish Border Guards Shot at Primary School north of Raqqa
Schools in the border villages of Syria’s northeast, controlled by The Syrian Democratic Forces, are under intermittent fire by the Turkish border guards.
During the presence of students in school, Turkish troops opened fire on the school of Susk village, west of Tal Abyad / Gre Sepi town, north of Raqqa, last month.
Furthermore, The Turkish border guards target civilians, which prevent them from cultivating their fields, and target their machineries in border villages in Syria’s northeast.
“We are afraid to be targeted in the school by the Turkish army, and we demand of constructing a wall around the school,” the 8-year-old girl, Majdara, a student at the Sousk School told North Press.
In 2016, Turkey began building a separation wall between it and the areas of The Administration in Syria’s northeast, and closed all border crossings after the control of The Syrian Democratic Forces over the border line.
Moreover, The Turkish army cut down the lands of the peasants , and killed dozens of Syrians while they were trying to cultivate their fields, which increased the suffering of the people.
“When The Turkish troops opened fire on our school, we got scared and fled the school,” Swar, the 11-year-old student said
spontaneously , ensuring that they targeted the village more than once a month. He wishes a wall be built between the school and the Turkish border.
Darbeen, 10 years old, hopes to complete her study and live in peace, and wishes to be protected with her schoolchildren, from frequent targeting of border guards.
Back in 2015, The Self-Administration in the northeast Syria decided to teach The Kurdish language to students in Kurdish areas under their control.
The self-Administration introduced special curricula for Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs each in their areas of control. The number of students was about one million in these schools.
