On Friday, the United States Embassy in Syria announced that it will provide Syria with humanitarian aid to fight against coronavirus, worth 31 million US dollars.

Such humanitarian assistance, including medicine and medical supplies, will be exempted from any U.S. sanctions or even UN sanctions currently imposed on Syria, the Embassy posted on its Facebook account.

The embassy added that this aid is specified to support the awareness of dangers and disease monitoring, water supply, sanitation, and the public hygiene program, and to prevent and control the spread of the epidemic.
