A Russian patrol heading for Derbasiyah and Turkey remove parts of the bordering wall

This morning, a Russian patrol headed from Qamishli city airport to the city of Amuda, where it will continue its way to Derbasiya area and its countryside, to conduct the first joint patrol with the Turkish forces.

North-Press reported the removal of parts of the bordering wall off the village of Shirk about 15 km west of Derbasiya, in preparation for a joint military patrol with Russian forces, in the implementation of the bilateral agreement.

A Russian-Turkish patrol was supposed to be conducted on the borders last Wednesday, but was postponed until Friday.

On Thursday, Russian forces conducted a reconnaissance tour on the borders, from Qamishli to the village of Shirk, to the village of Arada in Abu Rassine countryside, and stopped for about two hours in the Shirk area with extensive contacts and searching maps in their possession.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart reached a memorandum of understanding on October 22, which calls for the withdrawal of the SDF from the borders with a depth of 32 km, after which Russian and Turkish forces will begin patrolling the Syrian-Turkish borders.
