People lost confidence, opposition groups lack the mechanism of communication – Idlib official
Idlib – North-Press Agency
The head of the political body in the governorate of Idlib, Abdullah Haj Suleiman told North-Press about the return of Friday demonstrations in different parts of the governorate, rejecting the formation of the Constitutional Committee. People are taking the streets to “demonstrate for their dignity!”
Suleiman added that people don’t trust the Syrian government as long as it doesn’t actually change its behavior, noting that “the (Syrian)regime has eliminated all forms of political life, therefore, people suffered the lack of the elites, who are good at the local and international political game”.
“The political opposition lacks a clear understanding of how to implement the U.N. Resolution No. 2254, therefore, they did not communicate effectively with the public to clarify the resolution’s way of implementation and the complexities of the international game”, he explained.
Moreover, Suleiman considered that one of the reasons for the lack of equitable representation of all the Syrian governorates and various components of the Syrian people in different parts of the political life in Syria is, “the accumulation of bad conducts of the opposition of confusion and lack of transparency, in addition to the proficiency of the regime in playing on propaganda side in representing the constitutional committee as a triumph for it”, Abdullah Haj Suleiman added.
This has been followed, “whether before the revolution in the country’s institutions that have been monopolized by the regime, or after the revolution in the institutions of the opposition, which were monopolized by the elites of major governorates, followed by all other local, regional and international initiatives ending with the Constitutional Committee”, Suleiman said.
He also stressed that all of these mentioned factors have made the Syrian people to lose confidence in an international resolution, as people always think that all of what is happening is in the interest of the Syrian government.
Suleiman added that the international community and the international envoy have a difficult but necessary task to succeed, and gain popular acceptance of the Constitutional Committee and the rest of the content of the U.N. Resolution No. 2254, and that they should “reconsider how to communicate with all components of the Syrian people, and the need to be represented in all initiatives and institutions that will form a transitional solution in Syria”.
Different areas in the northern and western countryside of Idlib have witnessed demonstrations demanding the condemnation of the Constitutional Committee, the liberation of detainees and overthrow the “Syrian regime”.
The demonstration of Kafr Takharim in the western countryside of Idlib, on Friday, condemned the Russian bombardment of the northern countryside of Hama, Idlib southern countryside, and the Constitutional Committee, indicating that it (the Constitutional Committee) doesn’t represent the Syrian people.
