Hamdan al-Abd, member of the preparatory committee of the Euphrates Tribes Forum (Northern Syria tribes) has confirmed that the figures and leaders of the tribes and events that participated in the meeting have met under the supervision of the Body of the Elders of north and eastern Syria, and agreed on one phrase: “No for the Turkish occupation”.
During a meeting which was held on Sunday in the village of Tanhoza, west of the city of Gre Spi (Tal Abyad), al-Abd, who is also the deputy chairman of the executive council of the Autonomous Administration in north and eastern Syria, told North-Press that the region’s Arab tribes “object the Turkish occupation and intervention in the region, as we call on all Syrians for dialogue regarding the future of our country”.
Al-Abd added that “Turkey always strikes on the tribal and sectarian nerve in the region, in order to create a social rift between its components, as it carries out assassination operations targeting elders and social figures, with the aim of destabilizing the security and stability in our region”.
The Body of the Elders of north and eastern Syria has invited all tribes of the region to attend the Forum of the Euphrates tribes, where representatives of more than 60 clans and tribes in the region from all components have attended.
In turn, the former leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Saleh Muslim stressed that the goal of these meetings with the sheikhs and tribal elders is to know the opinion and aspirations of the community, and to reach a politicized and moral society.
Moreover, Muslim stated to North-Press that the customs and traditions of Arab tribes in the region does not accept injustice and assault, and defend the dignity of humans, which is unanimous to all the people of the region, who stand against injustice and wrong doings.
Muslim said that the peoples of north and eastern Syria are under threats, and that the meeting of the tribes today is an affirmation that all tribes and clans in the region are in solidarity with each other, and uphold their dignity and their rights to defend against any attacks against the region.
In the same context, Ameer Abdin Fayez Badrakhan of the Badrakhan family condemned all acts of violence carried out by Turkey in Syria, including the deduction of Syrian territories, the destruction of its infrastructure, the displacement of its people, and the incitement for murder among Syrians themselves.
Badrakhan also stressed the importance of the Syrian-Syrian dialogue among the people of the same country to solve the problems, pointing out that they are with the unity of the land and people in Syria, and that the time has come to end the war in Syria by rejecting disputes, tolerating and building peace in the region.
It is noteworthy that the activities of the Euphrates tribes Forum were finished on Sunday, with an issued final statement, where the forum, which was held under the slogan “No for the Turkish threats against north and eastern Syria, Yes for a safe Syria”, discussed several topics of which the Turkish threat was the most important.
Around 1500 elders and figures of Manbij, Raqqa, al-Tabqa and Deir Ez-Zor areas, in addition to al-Jazira and Euphrates regions have participated in the forum, along with the representatives of the Autonomous Administration in north and eastern Syria, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) and some local political parties.
