Yahya Maktabi, the member of the political body of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces, accused the international community of “ineffectiveness in dealing with the Syrian crisis and pressing to stop the operations,” he also said: “The Turkish ally can’t be overloaded with the Syrian issue”.

Russian pressure
Maktabi stressed that “there is no serious effect by the international community to put pressure on Damascus to stop the massacres and killings, which is supported by the Russians and Iranians,” indicating that “there are inaction and suspicious silence from the international community for all the massacres”.
Maktabi reduced the possibility of the Syrian government’s achieving any progress in the political process, accusing it of being “a regime that does not accept dividing by two”.
He also stressed the existence of irrefutable evidence on using the Syrian government of chemical weapons, pointing out that “what is happening in Idlib is inseparable from that and it is a new stage of the regime’s crimes supported by Russians and Iranians”.
Idlib
Yahya Maktabi added: “Despite Russia’s heavy shelling and its large military strength accompanied with the Syrian government forces, they have managed to advance only in a few towns and small villages within a large area”.
He believes that “the situation is not easy at all;” explaining that “Russia has no obligation or covenant, and will not keep its promise at all”.
Maktabi told North-Press that the Syrian armed opposition groups don’t expect the Russian side “a lot”, praising the role of what he described as “the Turkish ally in providing everything in its power and trying to restrict the Russians within Sochi agreement and the various agreements regarding the de-escalation zones.”
Maktabi elaborated the battle for freedom, democracy, and building a state of law, saying that the demands are still the same, and it’s the responsibility of the international community, as it claims that the countries shouldn’t have a dictatorial rule, but they should adopt democracy, freedom, the rule of law and pluralism.
Meeting with the operating room
Yahya Maktabi condemned the attacks against civilians in the de-escalation zones, calling on the international institutions to put pressure on Russia to stop this aggression; so that there is a ceasefire, and prevent violations and attacks against the civilians.
In addition, he revealed about an extensive meeting was held a few days ago between the armed opposition groups and the Syrian National Coalition, and with some officers in charge from an operating room inside Syria to provide what can be offered, because there is no Idlib after losing Idlib, according to him.
Future steps
He also explained the coalition’s future steps, which he summarized in three key files, the first of which was “supporting efforts to launch the interim government inside Syria.”
The second step is to “take care of the Syrians around the world, especially in the nearby countries where they have taken refuge, and to solve or try to solve their problems that can be solved.”
The third step was summarized “the process of reforming the Opposition Coalition, in order to strengthen its role as a fully national Syrian situation.
Maktabi concluded: “We are following up with the national coalition representatives in the negotiating body, the developments in the negotiating file and the matters relating to the formation of the Constitutional Commission and the latest developments in this regard”.
