Israeli forces raid village, seize residents’ phones in Syria’s Daraa

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Wednesday entered a village in the countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, and raided homes amid drone flights over the area.

Local sources in Daraa countryside told North Press that an Israeli force of about seven vehicles, including two armored vehicles, entered Abdeen village in the Yarmouk Basin area early Wednesday.

The force, which came from the Israeli military’s al-Jazeera barracks on the outskirts of Maariyah village, raided several residents’ homes and seized their mobile phones, according to the sources.

Several vehicles from the convoy positioned near the Khalid ibn al-Walid Mosque inside the village, while the force searched a number of homes, causing fear and panic among residents, the sources said.

The sources added that the vehicles were accompanied by a large number of Israeli troops who deployed through the village’s narrow streets, amid intensive drone flights over the area.

The raids resulted in the seizure of mobile phones belonging to several residents whose homes were searched, according to the sources.

On Tuesday, Israeli forces also entered the northern countryside of Quneitra, where they raided several homes in Jubata al-Khashab before withdrawing and returning to their positions.
