Syria’s Idlib arms depot blast kills 16, injures 10
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The death toll from an arms depot explosion near Sarmada in northernSyria’s Idlib rose to 16 on Wednesday, while 10 others were injured, according to a preliminary toll.
A government source told North Press earlier Wednesday that an explosion at a temporary facility used to collect weapons and war remnants before their transfer, near Sarmada in northern Idlib, killed three people and injured 10 others.
North Press sources in Idlib said the number of people killed in the explosion had reached 16, while about 10 others were injured, adding that the toll remained preliminary.
The Ministry of Defense’s Media and Communications Department earlier told Syria TV that the explosion injured several ministry personnel, adding that ministry units were working to secure the site.
